The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions set out in the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of the University of Wrocław.
Requirements
Condition to be met by candidates:
- Leghold a post-doctoral degree in the field of the humanities, in the discipline of culture and religion studies or a related discipline.
- Proof of publication within the last four years of a research monograph or highly rated research articles corresponding to the discipline of Cultural and Religion Studies in journals on the ministerial list of bullet journals; or chapters in peer-reviewed collective monographs published in publications on the ministerial list of bulleted publications.
- Knowledge of theory of culture in the areas of cultural studies, cultural anthropology, and philosophical anthropology.
- Knowledge of the history of cultural thought.
- Knowledge of philosophy and methodology of the humanities.
- Proven interest in cultural fields such as literature, art, and religion.
- Documented experience in teaching in higher education institutions and skills in this area (the jury reserves the right to ask the candidates for an open lecture).
- Knowledge of the Polish language (spoken and written) to the extent necessary to conduct lectures.
- Active knowledge of at least one congress language as demonstrated by participation in international scientific life: for example, participation in scientific projects, foreign scientific conferences, presenting papers in the congress languages and publishing research papers in this language in foreign publications.
- Knowledge of English to the extent allowing for the conduct of classes will be highly valued.
In addition:
- Preference will be given to candidates with proven experience in obtaining external funds for the implementation of scientific research or the implementation of team research or educational projects certified by managing or participating in a foreign or domestic project financed by funds obtained in domestic or foreign, open competition procedures (including the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, NCN, NCBiR or FNP); or obtaining equivalent financial support for research from domestic or foreign institutions, or submitting at least one application in grant competitions that was evaluated positively (in the case of a known score achieving a minimum of 70%) in the last evaluation stage, but did not gain funding due to lack of funds.
Responsibilities (respectively in the research, teaching, organizational area):
- Preparation of scientific publications, published in high-scoring journals and prestigious publications.
- Conducting classes with students of the BA and MA degree studies (also in English).
- Applying for internal and external (including international) research grants.
- Active participation in conferences.
- Fulfilling duties related to organizational work for the Institute of Cultural Studies.
- Promoting and popularizing science.

- Self-presentation containing a description of the candidate’s scientific, organizational and teaching activity, level of internationalization, activity.
- A list of the candidate’s publications for a period of no more than 10 years.
- Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers to be representative of his/her scientific achievement, or an explanation of the lack of them.
- Application for employment addressed to the Rector.
