Requirements
The candidate is required to have:
- Holding a PhD degree in the discipline of chemical sciences, obtained no earlier than 2018.
- Experience in conducting interdisciplinary research, with particular emphasis on coordination chemistry, especially in the context of interactions between metal ions and biomolecules, documented by a significant publication record in indexed international scientific journals, with a substantial authorship contribution (first author or corresponding author).
- Documented experience in the use of analytical methods to characterise metal ion complexes with antimicrobial peptides: (i) UV–Vis spectroscopy, (ii) CD spectroscopy, (iii) NMR spectroscopy, in particular experience in the analysis of metal–peptide complexes, (iv) EPR spectroscopy, (v) potentiometry, (vi) mass spectrometry.
- Proficient command of English enabling independent use of scientific literature, preparation of scientific articles, presentation of results and communication in an academic environment (minimum level B2).
- Experience in supervising students and/or doctoral candidates.
- Participation in national and international conferences.
Responsibities
- Carrying out research as part of the SNSF MAPS project in a research team.
- Determining the solution structures of rhenium–peptide complexes with antimicrobial activity.
- Participation in scientific meetings, seminars, preparation of scientific publications, and active participation in international scientific conferences and other scientific trips.
- Preparation of reports and manuscripts of scientific publications.
- Supervision and mentoring of undergraduate and PhD students involved in the research project.
- Basic maintenance and care of research equipment owned by the group.
