The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.

Requirements

  1. The candidate must hold a doctoral degree and demonstrate outstanding research activity, including publications listed in the JCR and presentations at scientific conferences.
  2. Preference will be given to candidates with international research experience and teaching experience. The research profile should be related to neutrino physics or the application of machine learning in physics.
  3. The candidate should be qualified to teach courses in Polish at the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy, particularly in physics and computer science – related subjects.
  4. The candidate should have experience in teaching courses.
  5. A Foreign candidate must demonstrate verified proficiency in the Polish language, both spoken and written, at the level sufficient to conduct teaching activities (confirmed by a certificate or a qualification interview).

Responsibilities
In the research area:

  1. Conducting scientific research in the field of neutrino physics.
  2. Preparing scientific publications.
  3. Active participation in seminars and scientific meetings, including their organization.
  4. Applying for research funding and participating in national and international scientific conferences.

In the teaching area:

  1. Conducting teaching activities, including courses taught in Polish.
  2. Supervising bachelor’s and master’s theses.

In the organizational area:

  1. Supporting the activities of the Institute of Theoretical Physics, particularly in student recruitment and promoting the Institute’s visibility.
  2. Developing and maintaining national and international collaborations.

  3. A photocopy of the diploma certifying the Ph.D. academic degree.
  4. Declaration whether, in the event of winning the application, the University of Wrocław will be the primary place of work (download Workplace Statement).
  5. Declaration as to the discipline in which the candidate will conduct research, and in the case of people conducting research in more than one discipline: the percentage share of their involvement in each of these disciplines (download Declaration of scientific discipline).
  6. Self-presentation clearly indicating the way the candidate meets the criteria, referring separately to the criterion of scientific activity, the criterion of internationalization, the criterion of organizational activity and the criterion of didactic activity.
  7. List of the candidate’s publications for a period not exceeding 10 years.
  8. Two letters of recommendation evaluating the candidate’s scientific and teaching achievements, prepared by individuals holding a postdoctoral degree or recognized as experts in the candidate’s field of research.
  9. Application for employment to the Rector of the University of Wrocław.
  10. Declaration – article 113 the Law on Higher Education and Science (download Declaration – Article 113).
