The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.

Requirements
The candidate is required to have:

  1. A doctoral degree in the humanities in the discipline of linguistics.
  2. A scholarly record of research in Dutch linguistics, including a comparative perspective, documented by publications (at least one first-author publication in a renowned international journal).
  3. Research interests directed towards: applied, experimental or corpus-based linguistics, using modern statistical methods (e.g. R statistics, mixed models) and experimental tools (e.g. PsychoPy, JsPsych, online surveys).
  4. Documented experience in acquiring external grants and conducting research projects, both individual and collaborative, in a professional curriculum vitae.
  5. Documented active participation in national and international scientific conferences.
  6. Experience in the implementation of research projects and educational projects, as well as academic internships.
  7. Competencies, qualifications and experience documented in the professional curriculum vitae to properly conduct academic classes, including classes using the Moodle platform and other digital tools used in academic education.
  8. Experience in organizational work for higher education institutions, such as organizing academic seminars and conferences, including international ones, language workshops for students, work in collegial bodies of higher education institutions.
  9. Readiness for organizational work and competence in the field of teaching organization, work in university committees, organization of meetings, workshops, and conferences.
  10. Availability to conduct classes in full-time and part-time (weekend-only) modes.
  11. Flexibility in creating, preparing, and implementing new types of classes, including those using digital tools.
  12. Knowledge of Polish enabling efficient communication in the field of academic teaching and organization.
  13. Knowledge of Dutch and English at a level sufficient to prepare scientific publications, actively participate in scientific conferences, and conduct classes.
  14. Good relationship skills, communication skills, ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities (in the research, teaching, organizational areas respectively)
In the research area:

  1. Conducting individual and team research in the field of Dutch linguistics.
  2. Preparing scientific publications at least to the extent required by the evaluation conditions required at the University of Wrocław.
  3. Active participation in scientific conferences.
  4. Applying for research projects and grants in national and international grant programs.
  5. Joining the international research cooperation of the Department of Dutch.
  6. Initiating new research contacts with domestic and foreign research institutes.

In the teaching area:

  1. Conducting classes related to the teaching process in the field of Dutch linguistics and practical knowledge of the Dutch language, resulting from the current needs of the Department of Dutch Studies, in the scope expected for the position of assistant professor in accordance with the current internal regulations of the University of Wrocław.

In the organizational area:

  1. Performing tasks related to the organization of the teaching process at the Department of Dutch Studies, including: organizing credits and exams, participating in the work of teams implementing changes in study programs and developing new study programs.
  2. Organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences, participating in the editorial work of scientific publications.
  3. Popularizing linguistic knowledge and promoting the achievements of the Department of Dutch Studies.
  4. Performing other tasks and activities related to the implementation, organization, and improvement of the teaching process as indicated by the management of the Department of Dutch Studies.

  7. A list of the candidate’s research works published in the last 10 years.
  8. Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers representative of his or her scientific achievements.
  9. Application for employment addressed to His Magnificence the Rector.
  10. Declaration in connection with Article 113 of the Higher Education and Science Act (download Declaration – Article 113).
  11. Description of the habilitation project, indicating the stage of progress of the candidate’s habilitation work and the planned completion date of the project.
  12. A teaching plan for a course in a freely chosen area of Dutch linguistics, taking into account the participants’ level of language proficiency according to the CEFR.
  13. Names and email addresses of at least two scholars with a postdoctoral degree or professorship, or, in the case of persons employed at a university outside Poland, holding positions comparable to a habilitation degree or professorship, specializing in a field related to the candidate’s area of interest or in a related field, who are willing to send letters of recommendation on behalf of the candidate.
  14. Any other documents supporting the application.
