The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.
Requirements
- A PhD in biological sciences or related disciplines connected with plant ecology.
- Research experience in plant ecology, ecophysiology and biogeochemistry, especially in mountain and polar ecosystems.
- Knowledge of research methods used in ecology, ecophysiology and biogeochemistry (especially elemental analysis techniques, such as CHNS, AAS).
- Experience in conducting field and laboratory research.
- Knowledge of statistical methods for data analysis (basic and multivariate).
- Academic teaching experience in laboratory and field classes.
- Documented scientific achievements, including publications in JCR- listed journals and presentations at scientific conferences.
- Proficiency in Polish sufficient to conduct classes in this language.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Responsibilities
Research area:
- Conducting scientific research in the field on ecology, plant ecophysiology biogeochemistry particularly in an extreme environment (mountain and polar regions).
- Processing research results and preparing scientific publications.
- Collaborating with national and international research centers.
- Preparing grant proposals and actively participating in scientific conferences.
Teaching area:
- Conducting on-campus and field classes in both Polish and English.
- Designing and teaching original courses to enhance the Department’s educational offer.
- Supervising volunteers and students conducting scientific research within the Department.
- Participating in the organization of the educational process.
Organizational area:
- Actively participating in initiatives undertaken the Department and Faculty.
- Promoting scientific activities, e.g. Biologists’ Night.
- Supervising interns and undergraduate and graduate students.

- Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers representative of his or her scientific achievements or an explanation of the lack of them.
