The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th, 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.

Requirements
The candidate is required to have:

  1. A doctoral degree in the humanities or a Master’s degree in French language studies (or other analogical), obtained in the Republic of Poland or abroad. In the case of foreign candidates, the regulations concerning the recognition of education obtained abroad apply. Diplomas obtained in countries with which Poland has not concluded bilateral agreements on the recognition of foreign education as equivalent to education obtained in Poland are subject to nostrification.
  2. Proficiency in the French language, along with experience teaching French to university students at levels A1–C1, including the integration of digital tools in instruction.
  3. Proficiency in Polish enabling effective communication in academic teaching and within the university environment.
  4. Proficiency in English at a minimum level of B1.
  5. Professional demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a team.
  6. The selection committee will also take into account the following additional criteria related to the teaching profile of the Department of Translation Studies and the needs of the Institute of Romance Studies: (1) education in translation studies or professional experience in translation; (2) experience in business communication in a multilingual environment.

Responsibilities

  1. Conducting teaching activities (in the field of translation/interpretation and/or practical French language instruction at all levels) and performing administrative tasks related to the delivery and organisation of the teaching process, within the scope and workload assigned to the position of teaching assistant, in accordance with the current internal regulations of the University of Wrocław.
  2. Performing other tasks and duties related to the delivery and organisation of the teaching process as assigned by the Director of the Institute of Romance Studies or the Head of the Department, in particular: serving as an academic advisor for student groups, acting as secretary of the admissions committee, participating in the organization of examinations, etc.
  3. Outreach and public engagement activities, including participation in and organisation of various events promoting the university.
  4. Compliance with copyright and related rights regulations in teaching, research, and creative activities.

  3. Photocopy(s) of diploma(s) attesting to the award of a Master’s degree and, where applicable, a copy of the diploma certifying the award of a doctoral degree.
  4. Self-presentation containing a description of the candidate’s professional activity, especially in the area of teaching, translation/interpretation and business.
  5. A teaching plan for a freely chosen course (30 teaching hours, 15 classes) in the area of translation/interpretation or practical use of French.
  6. Statement of whether the University of Wroclaw will be the primary workplace in the event of winning the competition (download Workplace statement).

  8. Declaration in connection with Article 113 of the Higher Education and Science Act (download Declaration – Article 113).
  9. Any other documents supporting the application.
