The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.
Requirements
The candidate is required to have:
- Hold a master’s degree in Korean philology or a related discipline in the humanities, obtained in Poland or abroad; in the case of a native speaker of Korean, have completed higher education and possess experience in teaching Korean as a foreign language at the academic level. For foreign candidates, the regulations on the recognition of education obtained abroad apply. Diplomas obtained in countries with which Poland has not concluded bilateral agreements on the recognition of education obtained abroad as equivalent to education obtained in Poland are subject to nostrification.
- For candidates who are not native speakers of Korean, knowledge of the Korean language must be certified by a diploma.
- Experience in teaching at a university-level institution in the field of Korean studies.
- The selection committee will also take into account the following additional criteria related to the teaching needs of the Institute of Classical, Mediterranean, and Oriental Studies: willingness to teach business Korean language and willingness to actively seek out partners for cooperation within the socio-economic environment among Korean companies operating in Poland.
Responsibilities:
In the teaching area:
- Educating and mentoring students, including supervising coursework, term papers, and theses in terms of content and methodology.
- Participating in the development of the Institute’s educational offerings, including contributing to the creation of new curricula.
- Initiating new teaching partnerships with domestic and international research institutions.
In the organizational area:
- Undertaking organizational responsibilities arising from employment at the Institute of Classical, Mediterranean, and Oriental Studies at the University of Wrocław. Continuously improving professional competencies.
- Participating in the organization of academic and cultural events.
