The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.
Requirements
The candidate is required to have:
- PhD degree in biological sciences or related disciplines.
- Knowledge of the Polish language to the extent allowing to conduct classes in this language (confirmed with the A-level or another exam).
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Outstanding scientific achievements documented by publications (at least three experimental publications in international journal with IF above 5, including at least one first author paper).
- Experience as investigator in at least one high-budget project (min. 1 mln PLN).
- Experience in preparing scientific publications and writing projects.
- Scientific interests related to protein engineering (in particularly with phage display, preparation of cytotoxic conjugates), cell biology, the role of growth factors and their receptors (in particular FGF/FGFR, HER2), cell signalling, internalization, protein-protein interactions, apoptosis, cell migration, analysis of cytotoxic conjugates (stability, endocytosis, cytotoxicity).
- Knowledge of molecular biology methods (including cloning, mutagenesis), recombinant protein overproduction and purification, physico-chemical analysis of proteins, cell biology methods (including analyses of cell signal transduction, proliferation and apoptosis progression measurements, cell migration, fluorescence microscopy).
- Active participation in conferences, workshops, courses and other forms of supporting scientific development.
- Motivation to scientific work.
- Experience in teaching and supervising master or bachelor students.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
Responsibilities (in the research, teaching, organizational areas respectively)
In the research area:
- Conducting experiments, results analysis.
- Reports preparation.
- Participation in scientific meetings and conferences.
- Tracking of scientific reports in national and international journals.
- Preparation of scientific publications.Preparation of grant applications.
- Managing the research projects.
In the teaching area
- Conducting teaching courses in the field of biochemistry, protein engineering, biotechnology, enzymology.
- Co-supervising PhD students.
In the organizational area
- Participation in faculty/department meetings, seminars.
- Participation in organizational areas of the department.
