The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.

The candidate should meet the following requirements:

The candidate is expected to have:

  1. Knowledge of the Polish language at a level that allows teaching in this language.
  2. Knowledge of English at a level that allows conducting classes in this language (if the person selected in the competition will conduct such classes).
  3. A doctoral or postdoctoral degree in the humanities in the field of Art Sciences or Art History.
  4. Particular knowledge of the history of architecture and urban planning from Middle Ages to Modernity.
  5. Knowledge of interdisciplinary methods used in field research of architectural monuments.
  6. Knowledge of conservation practices regarding architectural and construction monuments.
  7. Publication achievement – research areas related to architecture, urban planning and monuments protection will be preferred.

Additional requirements:

  1. Having published a scientific monograph or at least two scientific articles in journals assigned to the discipline of Art Sciences and included on the ministerial list of scored journals  and publishing houses in the last five years.
  2. In the last five years, obtaining, conducting or participating in a national grant from one of the indicated institutions (MNiSW, MKiDN, NCN, NCBiR, FNP) or obtaining equivalent financial support for research from domestic or foreign institutions or submitting at least one application in grant competitions, which was assessed positively (in the case of a known score, achieving at least 70%) in the last stage of the assessment, but did not receive funding due to lack of funds.

Responsibilities at work

In the research area

  1. Conducting research that results in publications of high scientific quality, including publishing in journals and publications that provide high scores needed in the process of the discipline evaluation. Obtaining external funds for research by applying for research grants.
  2. Activity in the field of interdisciplinary research.

In the didactic area

  1. Teaching within the scope of assigned classes.

In the organizational area:

  1. Participation, if necessary, in the organizational work of the Institute.

  3. A photocopy of the diploma certifying the Ph.D. academic degree or academic degree of the habilited doctor.
  4. Statement whether the University of Wroclaw will be the primary place of work in the case of winning the competition (download Workplace Statement).
  5. Declaration of the discipline in which the candidate will conduct research and in the case of people conducting research in more than one discipline the percentage of their involvement in each of these disciplines (download Declaration of scientific discipline).
  6. Self-presentation (information about scientific, organizational, and other achievements).
  7. List scientific publications in the last ten years.
  8. List of the most important achievements in the field of urban planning and architecture (office and field research).
  9. Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers representative of his or her scientific achievements or an explanation of the lack of them.
  10. Application for employment addressed to HM Rector.
