The University of Wroclaw invites applications for the position of assistant professor (post-doc) at the Institute of Psychology (NCN Project) at the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences. Please, send your application until December 5, 2025.

The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.

Requirements:

  1. A PhD in psychology or a related field.
  2. Documented scientific achievements (first-author publications in journals with an impact factor) in the field of psychology or, more broadly, in behavioral sciences.
  3. Experience in leading a research project.
  4. Participation in scientific conferences in Poland and abroad.
  5. Willingness to engage in organizational duties, including participation in university committees.
  6. Availability to conduct scientific research in Wrocław and its surroundings (Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), as well as periodically in othe research or genetic analysis sites (likely Papua (Indonesia), Nigeria, Bolivia, the Cooks Islands, Scotland).
  7. Proficiency in Polish and English. Knowledge of Spanish or Indonesian (languages of potential research locations) will be an additional asset.
  8. Documented previous fieldwork experience in non-Western settings (e.g. Asia, South America, etc.)
  9. Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Systematic scientific development, demonstrated by publishing in pre-reviewed journals with an impact factor.
  2. Participation in scientific conferences.
  3. Conducting research in Wrocław and in other locations specified in the grant (Indonesia, Nigeria, Bolivia, the Cooks Islands .
  4. Organizational duties for the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences.

  3. Declaration – article 113 the Law on Higher Education and Science (download Declaration – Article 113).
  4. Self-presentation containing a description of the candidate’s scientific activity, level of internationalization, organizational activity and teaching activity.
  5. A list of the candidate’s publications for a period of no more than 10 years.
  6. Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers to be representative of his/her scientific achievement, or an explanation of the lack of them.
  7. Application for employment addressed to the Rector.
