The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.

Condition to be met by candidates:

Requirements:

  1. Proficiency in Polish sufficient to conduct classes in this language
  2. Proficiency in English sufficient to conduct classes in this language.
  3. Possession of a PhD degree in the disciplines: Geology; Environmental Engineering, Mining and Energy; Earth and Environmental Sciences; or related fields.
  4. Knowledge of issues related to: mineral deposits documentation, mining and mineral processing, methods of raw minerals analysis.
  5. Scientific achievements documented by authorship or co-authorship of at least two publications from the JCR list (minimum 140 points according to the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education each publication), thematically related to the profile of the Department of Mineral Raw Materials Management.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Possession of geological licenses/certifications.
  2. Experience in preparing geological documentation of mineral deposits and deposit development projects.
  3. Experience in conducting classes with students.
  4. Experience in managing research projects.

Responsibilities:

In the area of research:

  1. Conducting scientific research and publishing activities in the discipline of Earth and environmental sciences.
  2. Applying for external funding to support research and maintain research potential.
  3. Active participation in scientific conferences.

In the area of teaching:

  1. Conducting courses in subjects such as: mining geology, documentation and economic evaluation of mineral resources, prospecting and documentation of mineral deposits,  procedures for obtaining mineral extraction licenses, challenges in mineral processing, mining.
  2. Supervising bachelor’s, engineering, and master’s theses.

In the area of organizational activities:

  1. Serving on the university’s collegial bodies, and on admission and examination committees during the student recruitment process.
  2. Organizing and participating in university promotional events.

  6. Self-presentation (information about scientific, organizational, and other achievements).
  7. List scientific publications in the last ten years.
  8. Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers representative of his or her scientific achievements or an explanation of the lack of them.
