The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (JoL 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.

Requirements

The candidate is required to:

  1. Possess a doctoral degree in the humanities, specifically in the discipline of literary studies.
  2. Conduct research in the field of literary studies and have a proven academic record, including a scholarly monograph, on topics related to Polish literature of the second half of the 19th century and the early 20th century.
  3. Have experience in both the substantive and formal organization of academic conferences.
  4. Have experience in didactic work at a university with an academic profile, particularly in conducting courses on the history of Polish literature from the Positivist and Young Poland periods.
  5. Be fluent in spoken and written Polish and have a knowledge of English at a minimum B2 level.

The Commission will also take into consideration:

  1. Documented academic achievements in interdisciplinary research.
  2. Experience in teaching interdisciplinary academic courses.
  3. Experience in applying for research grants.
  4. Experience in the popularization of science and cooperation with cultural institutions.

Responsibilities  (in the research, teaching, organizational areas respectively):

  1. Conducting research in the fields of literary studies, including applying for internal, national, and international grants in accordance with the criteria established by the relevant Discipline Council.
  2. Publishing research findings with the affiliation “University of Wrocław” and ensuring their proper documentation through the Library of the Institute of Polish Philology.
  3. Actively participating in the scientific and organizing activities of the Department of the History of Positivist and Young Poland Literature and of the Institute of Polish Philology at UWr.
  4. Complying with copyright and related rights regulations in teaching, research, and creative activities.
  5. Conducting teaching activities and performing administrative tasks related to the implementation and organization of the teaching process, in the scope and volume defined for the position of assistant, in accordance with the current internal regulations of the University of Wrocław.
  6. Performing other tasks and duties related to the implementation and organization of the teaching process, as assigned by the Director of the Institute of Polish Philology and the Head of the Department of the History of Positivism and Young Poland Literature.
