Requirements
The candidate is required to have:
- Master’s degree in Polish philology.
- Academic achievements in the field of literary studies/Polish studies confirmed by scientific publications, including documented scholarly work in the field of literary studies focused on the Polish literature of the period 1918–1989 and post-1989 Polish literature.
- Conduct research and publish in the field of the Polish literature of the period 1918–1989 and post-1989 Polish literature.
- Experience in teaching at a higher education institution, particularly in conducting classes on the history of Polish literature from the period 1918–1989 and post-1989 Polish literature.
- Experience in organizing teaching at a university-level institution, as well as in organizing academic conferences, scholarly discussions, lectures, and masterclasses.
- Fluency in spoken and written Polish and have at least a B2 level of proficiency in English.
The hiring committee will also take into account the candidate’s relevant experience in scholarly work with literary archives, regional research, popularization of academic knowledge, and collaboration with cultural institutions.
Responsibilities (in the research, teaching, organizational areas respectively)
- Conducting research in the fields of literary studies and Polish philology, including applying for internal, national, and international grants in accordance with the criteria established by the relevant Discipline Council.
- Publishing research findings with the affiliation “University of Wrocław” and ensuring their proper documentation through the Library of the Institute of Polish Philology.
- Actively participating in and organizing the scientific activities of the Institute (departmental and unit meetings, organizing academic conferences).
- Complying with copyright and related rights regulations in teaching, research, and creative activities.
- Conducting teaching activities and performing administrative tasks related to the implementation and organization of the teaching process, in the scope and volume defined for the position of assistant, in accordance with the current internal regulations of the University of Wroclaw.
- Performing other tasks and duties related to the implementation and organization of the teaching process, as assigned by the Director of the Institute of Polish Philology and the Head of the Department of 20th and 21st Century Polish Literature.
