The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.
Requirements
- PhD in astronomy.
- A good record of publications in refereed scientific journals in the discipline of astronomy.
- Knowledge of the Polish language at a level that allows conducting classes in this language (in the case of foreigners, confirmed by a certificate corresponding to the C1 level).
- Candidates for the competition should be professionals with a record of published scientific achievements in the discipline of astronomy. Preference will be given to candidates with a good record in the analysis of observations and interpretations of solar and stellar flare activity.
Auxiliary requirements
- Experience in collaboration with scientific groups.
- Proficiency in using WARPFINDER codes and conducting starspot modeling with the BASSMAN code will be a valuable asset.
Responsibilities
- Scientific work in the field of astrophysics and heliophysics, in particular in the study of stellar and solar flare activity. Conducting research, participation in scientific meetings, preparation of scientific publications, active participation in scientific conferences.
- Teaching of 240 h/year.
- Participation in scientific events organized at the IA UWr. Participation, if necessary, in committees, councils and other bodies established within the IA UWr and the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy.

- Self-presentation clearly indicating the way the candidate meets the criteria, referring separately to the criterion of scientific activity, the criterion of internationalization, the criterion of organizational activity and the criterion of didactic activity.
- List of the candidate’s publications for a period not exceeding 10 years.
- Attach to the submitted documentation in the form of electronic versions of the two most important publications which the candidate considers representative of his / her scientific achievements.
- Application for employment to the Rector of the University of Wrocław.
